This man went viral because of his kindness to his two dogs.
José Luis Matos, also known as Choco, is a homeless man from the city of Bucaramanga in Colombia who ran away from a home where he was abused.He has two beloved dogs named Shaggy and Nena.The trio often cruises the streets of the city and rests in the same place every night.
He needed not only to support himself..he also had to take care of his dogs.Unlike others who gave their pets to shelters, Choco preferred to have them by his side.After all, his dogs gave him purpose in his daily life.
So, during their birthdays, Choco tried to make the day special.He threw a simple birthday party for Shaggy and Nena.
Simple but complete. He had all the goodies in a bag and took them out one by one.
He put party hats on their heads, then pulled a small birthday cake out of a plastic bag.He also had some paper plates and a plastic knife so they could eat the cake together.
He took out two birthday candles, lit them up, and sang ‘Happy Birthday.’ Then, he gave them both a kiss and a slice of cake which they ate and enjoyed together.
The video was recorded by a man named Rotelo. He uploaded it, and it immediately went viral.
So, people who saw this video wanted to help Choco, Shaggy and Nene.
Many people came and made donations for the small family.They gave them dog food, other pet supplies and money, and someone even gave him a phone.All this came as a surprise to Choco, but he never hesitated to accept them.
He was happy that people noticed his kindness and helped him get back on his feet.
From all the donations, Choco managed to find a new home. He also used the phone to let his followers know what Shaggy and Nena were up to. His Instagram page now has over 150,000 followers.
Choco now enjoys the little things in life, most of which we often take for granted.He shared how he enjoyed living at home with his dogs, got his ID and even went to the dentist for a checkup.
