In this state, on July 17, this dog was brought for treatment to the hospital of the Evpatoria Animal Care Fund “From Heart to Heart”. How did she live and survive on the street? … Probably just lucky.
Vera turned out to have papillomatosis, in which the areas outside and inside the mouth were affected. She could only eat soft food, but even that was hard for her. It was really hard for her.
But this dog turned out to be one of those who looks into your eyes with gratitude and is ready to unquestioningly accept any help, do everything that is asked for. A wonderful dog with an open soul and a big heart. The doctors believed that they could cope, although the disease was very advanced. Therefore, the name was given Vera.
Treatment wasn’t expected to be fast and was calculated to be at least a month. But a week later, the first small achievements appeared — the papillomas became a little smaller and paler.
And Vera simply amazed everyone by how obediently she fulfilled all the appointments and behaved perfectly during the procedures!
A month and a half later, the results of the work of the Foundation’s doctors and Verochkin’s will to win over the disease exceeded all expectations.
Of course, it is still too early to talk about a full recovery. To consolidate the result, Vera is waiting for a couple of weeks of restorative immunostimulating therapy, passing control tests and monitoring indicators every five days.
But already now she is a beauty, and we are preparing to search for the best owners and the kindest hands, ready to bring this happy story to the end.
