Eli Barclay went fishing with father Darrin. They expected a big catch, but things happened out of the plan. Father and son were walking towards their tent when a forester suddenly approached them.
He told them that they can see an orphaned bear cub that often roams the area. And, just a few minutes later, the son noticed in the river the outlines of a baby bear, which was rapidly going underwater.
Eli said that the baby looked completely exhausted and when they approached he didn’t move.
It turned out that the teddy bear was carried into the car and given a sedative so that it could be done safely, and he managed to slip out of the car and jump into the water.
Already in the water, the remedy became effective and the baby bear weakened and could hardly hold his head. And then Eli realized that he needed to be urgently rescued, as he was carried away by the current, but instinctelly he still held his head .
Eli jumped into the water and began to quickly swim to the cub. He was able to pull the bear cub ashore. He was very young, most likely no more than a couple of months and already alone and without a mother.
They named him William and sent him to a rehabilitation center, where he will live until he grows up and gets stronger. Then it will be returned to its natural habitat.
