Doctors from the San Diego Zoo (USA) gave a chance to live a three-month-old baby giraffe named Msituni .
The baby had twisted legs and she could not walk normally. Then veterinarians developed special leg braces that corrected Msituni’s leg anomalies.
Previously, the front legs of the little giraffe weren’t bent properly, because of which she couldn’t stand and walk normally. Now she walks like normal giraffes.
“We are so happy that we were able to give this young giraffe the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. Without these braces, Msituni’s legs would only get worse over time,» said Dr. Matt Kinney, senior veterinarian at the San Diego Zoo, according to the New York Post.
After Msituni got used to the braces and began to walk well, she joined her relatives. Now the baby lives a normal life.
“This was a very important step in the natural development of Msituni. As her bond with other giraffes grows, she will learn the behaviors and skills that are important for the further development of the young animal”-explained Christy Burtis, wildlife care specialist at the San Diego Zoo.
