A stray little kitten ran into an apartment and decided to make it her forever home.
Caleigh Farragher, who lives in New York, received a surprise visit from an unexpected friend two days ago. A little tabby kitten snuck into her building and broke into her home. “We live in the basement of our apartment, and there is a maintenance door which is usually locked. But luckily for us, the door was open that day, and the sweet kitten came running towards us,” Caleigh told Love Meow. As soon as the tabby heard their voices, he headed straight for his human friends, asking for attention. He was just a pint-sized kitten but so brave and friendly. They searched for a mother cat and other kittens, but he was the only one there and no one came to claim him. They brought him inside, got him a towel to wipe off the rain and a warm bed to rest on.
“It was raining and we couldn’t get him out. He was incredibly friendly and chatty. Once inside, he was climbing and exploring,” Caleigh shared with Love Meow. This sweet tabby came into Caleigh’s life during a very dark time. “My grandma passed away last Sunday, and she was the biggest cat lover. Looks like she came back to us through the kitten.” The little feline pal crawled into her lap as if he knew exactly what she needed. He rolled over and wrestled with the finger monsters, putting a big smile on his face.
They named sweet cat Patty after Caleigh’s grandmother and took him to the vet for a checkup. That’s when they learned he was a boy and was between 4 and 5 weeks old. The moment the kitten settled in, they knew it was meant to be. “Patty has a clean bill of health and a new home,” Caleigh said. The little cat in the basement makes himself at home. When he needs a break from wandering around the apartment, he climbs onto his human mother’s lap or shoulders for cuddles and pets.
“He only weighs 0.7lbs but loves his formula and climbing and jumping everything. He is so happy.” Watch the kitten and her journey in this cute video:
The little tabby loves his new VIP life as an indoor kitten. He tries to pounce and grab anything that moves, already displaying such prowess and tenacity to get what he wants.
Within a day, he figured out his new digs and claimed every nook and cranny. Its favorite places to perch are the shoulders, chest, and knees of its humans. This little ball of fur has a lot to do to grow. He may be small, but he has a strong personality and is constantly on the lookout for mischief.
Caleigh never expected her life to be impacted by a little feline angel who snuck into her apartment. “It’s been two whole days and he’s running the show: eating, jumping, meowing. It really is the cutest I’ve ever seen!”
