Jake, a blind dog, has been discovered in a poor back alley in Los Angeles. He was rescued by a dog rescue organization who were also able to find his owners. Although the owners agreed to return it, they were annoyed by having to pay $20 for a return.
Jake’s owners flatly refused to pay the small fee, noting that the dog was «not worth it.» Jake was saddened that his loved ones abandoned him and left.
Initially, Jake was taken in by the director of the orphanage Tera. After rehab for several months, he was cared for by a local woman named Heidi. For Heidi, Jake was a real discovery.
She hesitated to adopt the blind dog permanently, but eventually realized that Jake was just like her other dogs, mischievous and full of life. It really gave us back our faith in human kindness.
Now Jake lives a comfortable life in his permanent home, surrounded by adoring people and canine siblings. People often overlook the fact that dogs have an excellent all-round sense of smell and even violation such as loss of vision do not interfere with them if they have the right owners.
