A cute dog, later named Bella, spent her life in the city’s orphanage.
Dog shelters in Romania are not like American ones. Dogs are often kept outside and the conditions are far from ideal. Due to poverty in Romania, shelters don’t get enough food from donors, so the dogs don’t eat as much as they should.
Bella was thin and scared. She had never been held or loved. Staying at the shelter broke her spirit.In the video below, you’ll see how Howl Of A Dog, a Romanian rescue group, took Bella from the shelter to find her a forever home.
The rescuers and Bella head straight to the vet. As she sits next to her new human friend in the car, she has a look of pure peace on her face. She realizes when affection is shown to her that her life is about to change.
Bella was completely exhausted. Shelter workers told rescuers that Bella hardly slept. It was difficult for her to feel safe there.As she sits there, being loved, her eyes begin to close.It’s incredible to see her finally relax.
She places her head on her rescuer’s lap. When they go to the vets office, she manages to get some sleep.The car is calm and quiet, and the woman next to her is kind.This is what Bella needed. Feeling safe is everything to a dog.
