There are three types of color in Labrador Retriever dogs. They are either chocolate, or fawn, or black. But it almost never happens that a dog’s mother has puppies of three colors at once.
But a four-year-old female Labrador named Zola gave birth to a very rare litter of three colors at once, and Zola herself is black.
Many people think that the color of the Labrador coincides with the color of the parents, however, this is just a stereotype, cubs of any color can be born, but not all three at the same time.
Zola’s owners are professional breeders who have been breeding Labradors for many years. For a long time they dreamed of a dog whose genetic code would make it possible to give birth to babies of all three colors and they found it.
The father of the puppies also had all three colors in their genes. For the offspring of three colors, 10 crosses were made. Of the dozens of puppies, two turned out to be fawn, three were chocolate-colored, and five were like a mom, black.
By the way, Zola will no longer have the opportunity to give birth, because this time, in order to give birth to ten puppies and not suffer herself, she had to have a c-section.
But at least five puppies of this dog will carry the same genes as their mother, so the breeders can be said to be very lucky.
